I'm consistently surprised by how many Chinese stand with Palestine and are against Israel even when they have no personal connection with either one of them.

It is called empathy, Palestine's situation is like China during WW2 and Japan's occupation. And today is another Remembrance Day of 918.

Also I have ceased to view Iran as a serious adversary for Israel. I think it is high time to acknowledge that Iran is a paper tiger and a questionable partner for China & Russia.

You have to take what you can get. Out of the collection of regional or middle powers in the global south, Iran is probably one of the least useless. But middle income countries simply are not as sophisticated as developed countries. China just doesn't have an equal in this world.

I'm surprised you're not labelling Russia a paper tiger for not attacking NATO to retaliate against aid to Ukraine

BTW, I agree that Iran is a paper tiger. Their regime is deeply unpopular. But so is Israel, outside the West. It's probably best for China to stay neutral as it is now. The West shouldn't be so close to Israel either, but the Israel Lobby distorts Western (especially US) MENA policy.

In 2017, when Jack Ma was at the peak of his powers, he spent money to make a movie about himself being a Tai-chi master who can beat the likes of Jet Li , Tony Jaa, and Donnie Yen. From then on, I had my doubts about his character and integrity.
