From what I understand, and that is very limited, that the gains for the militia were mainly from using drones effectively taking out the government army. This is a total military victory.
Geez, where did they get those drones from, and who taught them how to use it? Where did they get the money.

The money US gave to Pakistan was peanuts. It was like $3b/year, most of which went to facilitating the supply & logistics of and rendering services to NATO. The costs incurred, on the other hand, were staggering.
The common view at the time was that if Pakistan did not support NATO's invasion, then NATO would force it's way through Pakistan, possibly via India, and wreck Pakistan (along with Afghanistan) in the process. I found this view suspect because 1) NATO did not ask Pakistan for support, rather Pakistan itself offered it first, and; 2) if NATO were intent on forcing their way through, they'd have a much easier time going through a very weak Iran instead of a nuclear-armed Pakistan which does not conform to any "first-use" policy on nuclear weapons.
Just reading some reports once in a while, it just sound like a complete rout.
If those ethnic militias in Burma stop fighting each other, then they will defeat the government army resoundingly, that is the impression I get.
So not surprised if the Burmese army is being evicted. There is no more presence there, and they won't be coming back, as long as the militias do not start fighting each other.

@Nobo is literally from Bangladesh and is residin in the country that's been affected and suffered from the country's poor quality leadership resulting of its ousting. The fact that one of the leading figures of the interim caretaker provitional governtment has been praised and received awards from the U.S. does not automatically infer or confirm that the person is fully alligned with U.S. interests wholesale. Let's not forget the current P.M. of Malaysia who was once also the darling of the west and America and many here rightfully felt that he was a trojan horse for the American interests. But, much to the chagrin of the American interests and welcome surprised of Sinophiles, Ibrahim turned out to be quite adroit in handling the intense geopolitical rivalry between Tonya Harding against China.
Let's not be so careless and cavalier with our attitude against someone, country that is going upheaval and tremendous misery. You and I are far removed from the current dramatic changes happening in that members country. Have some humility and humanity for f..k sake.
