Ground invasion of Gaza would be a very logical and expected next step by the IDF. The high dollar question is what has HAMAS planned for this next event?
Or are their leadership satisfied with this 'successful' execution and just let things go whatever the hell they go afterward?
No way that Hamas didn't expect a ground invasion.
I would actually go as far to say that the whole point of this attack was to goad Israel into committing its ground forces in Gaza
If Hamas managed to plan, train for, and execute such a complex and multi-domain operation why would people then think that it also wouldn't predict the most plausible retaliation by Israel would be?

Israeli ground invasion of Gaza will bring masses of Israeli troops and armour within east DJI range.
The Israelis will basically go scorched earth and erase entire skylines in Gaza, but the thing with urban jungle is that a demolished building offers almost as many hiding places and sniper nests as an intact one. Not to mention the literal maze of tunnels Hamas has under the place.
It will be a bloodbath for both sides, and I think that’s exactly what Hamas wants.
