Ma participates in Han Kuang military exercise

I can understand the anti-terrorism drill hosted in my hometown due to the World Games.....but Han Kuang based off economic turmoil, natural disaster, epidemic......that has totally defeated the purpose.

i am glad that you are not the leader of taiwan, with your hawkish approach that island would have been leveled by PLA's missiles back in 08

Watch your use of language

Han Kuang was designed to be a military drill for military scenarios, not economic turmoil, natural disaster or epidemic. If they want to have drills for those sorts of things, they should create a different "exercises" not completely replace Han Kuang's true purpose.

lol calm down
its all a matter of being diplomatically adroit, military exercise or whatever it is, that;s just semantics. Taiwan's true security comes from not screwing around with politics. the logic is simple, you know how EU became what it is like now? they start with the coal and steel production, and bit by bit expanding the scope of cooperation, now they even have a common currency. same thing here, you start with all these trade relations, then you expand into industrial and financial and even cultural and so on...there is no way anyone would wanna make war when you can make love...i mean money.even the greens are eager to visit the mainland now.

that han kuang stuff was just bogus anyways, they miss the target and tell the president, who was there watching the stuff, that it was right on. Ma Yingjiu hates that stuff, but what he hates even more is a military controlled by chen's generals. so chen has control of all those big military branches eh? then i'll put my focus on anti-terrorism, so you guys dont get as much favour and budget. slowly Ma will take control of the military, kinda like Hu when he first came to power.

There are two economic threads. I will be calm if you stop making those comments

Taiwan's military obey's its command in chief, based on the constitution. Chen does not have your so called 'control' big military branches.

The anti-terrorism exercises are for the World Games coming up soon in Kaohsiung, and most countries in the world hold anti-terrorism exercises. Theres nothing wrong with that.

How is it bogus? Its more than you think, not just firing missiles, but battle readiness, mobilization of forces, joint exercises, etc.

China's military exercises could miss plenty of times, and CCTV and mass censorship could cut out the parts where they miss.

lol constitution?no politician believes in that stuff. lol anyone who knows taiwanese politics knows "bian jia jun", guess you are not one of them.
so now you are saying that there is nothing wrong with the anti-terror exercises...okay i'll comment on that further when you make up your mind.

media censorship with the military is one thing, everyone censors that stuff, you think the americans would show you videos of them getting pwned in iraq? you think when they show you those LGB's hitting the target, that that's what happens everytime they drop an LGB? in reality prolly half of the time they miss the target. even in the Canadian army i have heard stories that most ppl dont know, and we are one of the most professional in the world. but hiding from the public is one thing, hiding from your own commander in chief? right in front of his eyes? what the hell, do taiwanese leaders have any kind of authority before his own generals...and its his OWN generals too. i wonder what kind of treatment poor Ma is getting...that is until he replace those green generals with a few blue generals

Ah? Why did mine get totally deleted? It was mostly translating something and put my view on wether the stuff hits. Maybe people don't like Batman. Or Bhudda XD.

But I'm positive translating what he said is not a political topic.

@kliu0: I think his pingying means that ROC armed forces will rather follow their designated 'warlord factions/houses' than an actual constitution.

mmmh I took the word 'warlord' out of convenience (think more "leading person"), don't interpret it literally.

Now let us all start afresh and talk about the actual military news without jumping into the political ring.
Well said, I think you left off at the military practices.

According to the scenario, the People's Liberation Army landed altogether 200,000 troops in three areas on Taiwan after it had air and sea superiority.

The submarines...destroyed many landing craft of the PLA navy.

Chinese ground forces were landed in southern, central and north Taiwan. No troops were landed on eastern Taiwan, where a decisive sea battle took place.

By the time President Ma visited the command posts, the Chinese forces were reduced to eight divisions, concentrated in north Taiwan.

They were mopped up by a reorganized Taiwan army shortly after the president left for other previous engagements.

Well I'm certainly glad the MND bases its scenarios in reality.
