Cleaning the barrel. The last two images show a soldier removing the shroud over the commander's sight.

It seems that my research of Chinese tank transmissions is already becoming more and more large-scale :)

Some time ago, stumbled upon the statement that ZTQ-15 does not have the normal reverse speed.

I wanted to find more detailed information, but, unfortunately, in case of ZTQ-15 there are even less information than even of ZTZ99A.

Obviously, a new transmission is used, but it is not obvious how many front and reverse gears and the maximum reverse speed

One thing that always fascinated me is the semi-active suspension system. Does any other military use this type of technology? Is it much cheaper than true active types?

What’s the commander’s periscope shroud all about? From recent videos it’s just a detachable shell cover, so the obvious question is why is it needed? No other Chinese tank or armoured vehicle uses one, and its design of needing to be manually removed makes it a purely peacetime application not at all useable in actual combat.

Is it just a throwaway cover used for newly constructed tanks for transit until they reach their intended units?
