ZTQ-15 and PRC Light Tanks

I wonder if Type 15 rounds are more expensive than rounds for Type 96 and 99 since they are fewer in number owing to production scale and they are longer rounds owing to the design of autoloader for the light tank.
Perhaps you are right. I would add that the 105mm rounds could also cost more, relative to the 125mm rounds due to it being fixed, fully cased ammunition. Similar to NATO 105mm rounds, the Chinese 105mm tank rounds appears to come with full length brass/steel casing as we have seen in many main-gun loading videos. This should mean extra material cost per round vs the relatively caseless 125mm rounds.

She is of Uighur ethnicity. Funny how China lets her operate a tank gun when a supposed genocide is happening against her people as the Western media claims.

She must have been brainwashed by those chicom reeducation camps! those bastards!

or

She must've been forced at gunpoint! There is probably a few prison guards behind the camera crew when filming this! Only evil chicoms could think up such evil ways :O

or

She is just a Han Chinese person made up to look Uighur!

Watching that documentary about the female soldiers what struck me was that the turret rotation and gun elevation seemed to be controlled manually on the Type 15, i.e. by winding handles, rather than electrically powered. Is this correct? If so, is this common on even modern PLA tanks? What about Western and Russian tanks?

No, the turret is driven electrically but has manual backups. In the field, PLA tank crews train with manual backups very often. It's a prudent practice because training for the main electrical system can be easily accomplished on simulators.

They train with both usual use of electric hydraulic drive and manual redundancies. They sometimes show manual redundancy being used with crew rotating wheels to steer turret. In fact they often show the manual method being used in videos.

I think all modern PLA MBTs have auto aiming now (rare feature only on K-2, Type 10, modern NATO tanks and T-90MS onwards). Maybe not the Type 96 though since I haven't read or heard that featuring on the main PLA MBT, perhaps someone can clear that up but the VT-4 certainly does and so do the type 99 variants and of course the Type 15.

Auto aiming? Do you mean stabilized main gun?

Sorry I should have said auto tracking. Auto aiming probably isn't the right terminology but that's what it essentially is.

Gun stabilisation is a given for all modern tanks. They are often just locked so sometimes may seem like they don't have it.
