These sorts of "saturation attack via inexpensive drones" doesn't work against any half capable fleet. The attacker would need to get launching platforms and necessary minimum support for launching platforms well within 100km of fleet. That's not possible without air superiority and even with air superiority, fleet's long range AD will threaten enough of the launcher platforms and supports that it makes the whole thing quite unrealistic.
Might work against India, Russia maybe even smaller (but more capable) navies out there. 100% won't work against USN or PLAN on its own. Perhaps as a supplementary spearhead at least as one other means of attack and distraction from other attack vectors and platforms.
With respect to USN, it is mostly a SSN and carrier fighter propelled force. It's designed to knock out surface and subsurface fleets, take control of air, erode defences until heavier air operations can be employed. PLAN is building up as capable a defensive force as it can in surface and subsurface conventional platforms while relying on coastal support and land based HGV and MaRV long range attacks against USN fleets. Take out either the SSNs or the carriers and the USN force is so blunted, it is essentially ineffective (against full scale war with China that is... not just any random adversary). WRT the former, China relies on its ASuW networks and underwater acoustics + UUVs. WRT carriers, China has hypersonic glide weapons, MaRV AShBMs, and of course PLAN + PLANAF + PLAAF conventional forces mostly in the form of YJ series anti ship missiles (there are more than I can care to remember) launched from ships, SSKs, H-6, J-16, JH-7, J-10, J-15, with PLAAF fighters contesting air superiority and defending those platforms as best they can against USN fighters. Yet another form of strikes against USN would be welcome but what would the launching platforms be for such a drone swarm attack with range certainly well within 100km? H-6 can lob 1000km+ cruise missiles and supersonic missiles (even hypersonic ALBMs) at carriers WELL outside of F-35 flying range let alone realistic F-35 operational range (<< flying range). Such an angle is only useful if PLAAF and PLANAF control the skies around USN carriers. If they did, there wouldn't be much of a need for inexpensive drone swarms. A few missile hits would sink ships, a single missile hit could potentially mission kill a ship. To get that far, there is almost no scenario where USN fighters are effectively overcome by PLAAF and PLANAF and where the USN ships are still sticking around with most of their AD intact.
