only 28 knots? The Whale Shark 2000 export destroyer.
Maybe something to do with worse turbine tech?only 28 knots?
Well the typical 052Ds could achieve up to 31 knots (usually around 30) when using the QC280 gas turbine engines with two diesel engines (Chinese derivative of MTU). I don't see the rationale behind putting inferior gas turbine or diesel engines for export vessels. Those two engines are not top secrets for China. The US exports the military version of LM2500 all the time (even to China before 89, and the PLAN Qingdao still uses it). The only plausible reason for the export version of 052D to have two knots down with regards to top speed could be due to more radars and other heavier equipment onboard. So I would expect the full displacement of the Whale Shark to be higher than the PLAN's 052Ds.Maybe something to do with worse turbine tech?
Came back from the first day. Exausted. Because of our very precise prediction, we basically stand in front of the J-20s after they came down. Funny part is right after the J-20s touch down a J-16 took off and doing its stunt, but basically nobody cares... Everybody went to film J-20 stationed.
I have a request. Is it possible to take photos of every possible placard related to engines, including anything involving engine components? This is the one area I’m most interested and it’s also one of the areas where I think our specific knowledge is thinnest.
