I see what you did there..... Naughty naughty :p

Sinohawk would have been a better choice....
Back I can bet that's the kind of name the Western media will throw at it when they finally give it a public debut - Jane's might not go that low, but the China-hating Kanwa, Taiwan media, and most of the US major media outlets will do exactly that.

And crap like "oooo, look at China, it took them 30 years to finally replicate UH-60A!" will be all over the airwaves too. Mark my word.

What makes you believe it would actually be good replication? Unless they copied the truboshaft, the Copyhawk would look like the Blackhawk, but without its capabilities.

I'm pretty sure he was just using your post as a springboard to launch an attack on the quality of the Z-20, so whether you said "good replication" or not is unnecessary to the nature of his post.

Regardless of the quality of Z-20, the fact is that china still hasnt made a single indigenous helicopter design. Perhabs thats because they havent focused on helicopters as much as they have on planes.

This fact is pretty much meaningless given that the Chinese aviation industry has shown its ability to make indigenous 5th generation fighters. Also, the appearance of something like the Z-20 was a virtual guarantee given the PLA's decades-long experience with operating and maintaining the Blackhawk in the face of the US arms embargo. Yes it's a pretty close copy, and as for the quality we will just have to see, but dismissing it prima facie based only on biased personal assumptions and/or logically tenuous reasoning is not warranted at this stage, or to be honest at any stage.
