Olive drab as a color For fabric does the same thing depending on the dyes richness you can get a very Green a flat grey, almost black or A near Khaki Color. It’s favorable for a camouflage base because of that. It blends in better to a nights sky than actual black, and when seen from above parked on a grassland can blend into soil and foliage to a degree.It is not black ... just a very dark olive / green

Grey is also popular as it blends into overcast and can be confused for clouds.
