If China builds an LHD, they'll have to navalize the Z-10, or some other helo like the Z-9. An LHD without attack aircraft is basically an enlarged, glorified LPD without the traditional capabilities of LHD's, i.e. airborne attack.

They need to do work to navalize it and there hasn't been any evidence that will happen. The only thing likely to happen is getting Z-15 to do some kind of roles like that, but we will have to see.

What we have evidence of on the internet and what they are actually doing is not at all the same thing. But yes, we will just have to see because nobody really knows one way or the other.

I have a pretty good idea of what projects they are working on, since I've been following this for like ever. And I do not believe Z-10 is being navalized.

You've been following this forever on the internet? Unless you are a Chinese military helicopter industry insider "big shrimp" with access to knowledge we don't have, then you are just like the rest of us. If you do have such knowledge, then you are getting either yourself or someone else into trouble by posting information you shouldn't be.

that's kinda surprising to me cuz what would they use to support amphibious assaults?

Why they would need some kind of "navalization"?

As far as I know, There wasn't so much to do on Tiger to fit them for naval operations (from Mistral Class LHD), and all French choppers are used to be sent on French helicopter carriers. Requirements are far less demanding for choppers than for aircraft at sea.

My curiosity is piqued. Do you have a source for this statement?

The Pentagon came out with one of their reports on China a couple years back and when it happened posters here were congratulating Tphuang that they used him as a source. There's a thread buried in here somewhere showing it. Not sure if it was the subject of a thread in itself or within another subject's thread.

hmm, it was actually a congressional research study, but my blog has had it's moments. I was the person that originally broke the ASBM story.

I don't have any inside knowledge, but I have followed different sources very closely for a long time. I have been wrong on some issues in the past, this could be one of them. Let's just say that from my experience, every development in PLA has some smoke and Z-10 getting on LHD has no smoke.
