Yet i precise modifications only for TL/AShM fire system etc... no for noise there is no question i don' see and possible... of lengthening 877EKM and they have same noise as more long silencious 636/ 636M.
For me make sense modifications for TL made by the manufacturer in Russia as Indians have do now all is possible ... but for Chinese SSK Fleet différents * they have Song Class, Some Mings the last 4, Yuans etc... have yet anti-ships missiles - less good than the Klub supersonic, in general YJ-82 - so they don' t have really need have the 12 capable fired anti-ships missiles i think.
In general on 6 TL, 2 are modified, on 18 weapons in the Kilo 4 - 5 missiles same for last new Russians with LACM LR Kaliber.
*Indians have now and even 10 years ago only Foxtrots retired now , Type 209 with only torpedoes so they have the need for modified their 877EKM.

The Kilo-class 877EKM type submarine (pennant number 372) is underway on the surface. It is attached to the South China Sea Fleet of the PLA Navy.
Meanwhile i have check the number is good coz the last 4 in all i have always see are homeported to Sanya with 4 Song, 32th Submarine Flotilla SSF ( 8 others Kilo to Xiangshan, 22th Sub Flotilla, ESF SSKs 364 - 371) so error is for variant it is a 636M.
Now with black boats never easy.
