Re: PLAN submarines Thread II

Of course. I am not writing a Ph.D. thesis here.

The mening of the reference to a Mr. Bill Gertz escapes, as I am not aware of who he is.
Bill Gertz is the principle Defense and National Security reporter and columnist for the Washington Times in the United States. He has a pretty popular weekly column about Pentagon issues called, "Inside the Ring."

Hehehe...well, depending on which side of the political "divide" you happen to be on, there are humorous names for each that I have heard:

Washington Times:
Washginton Hard-Times
Washington Some-Times
Washington Timeless

Washington Post:
Washington Compost
Wahsington Posthole
Washington Post-it

LOL!

Spying is an ugly word, so let's call it confidence building, shall we? PLAN extended a good gesture to the US military, and it should be applauded. There's no reason why US and China can't share the Pacific Commons, so efforts to reduce tension and increase goodwill are important and welcomed. The US Navy just showed PLA officers our front line supercarrier, USS George Washington, and I hope we do more exchanges; Arleigh Burk for 052C; Sea Wolf for 093; F-22 for J-20; B1 for H6K; ..., etc.
Well... that's a bit naive... isn't?

I don't think that's a realistic scenario.Peace between them is crucial for their economy but for the rest you're too optimistic
