Its an 039B. That version appears to be the backbone of the SSK/039X force. Or at least they feature the most in imagery.Looking good and neat, but it doesn't look like the latest variant 039C ?
Is there any way to track 039 sub launches over the years? Do we have any idea how many have been launched in the last 5 years, for example? I know that Chinese language wiki lists a lot of launches that English language wiki doesn't, but it still doesn't offer any sources for those claims. Plus one can't know how conclusive that list is. Is there a better way of tracking those conventional sub launches?
Very interesting. Does sail change require other change to balance the system? They removed pennant numbers and in addition they appeared to be refitting the older subs to the latest B variant with the curved sail. Recent photos of the squared sail subs have practically disappeared.
In principle and most likely yes. Changing of sail (I believe you meant) shape changes its drag, likely reducing in this case. So locations or volumes of the trim ballast tanks need to changed or anything that can be easily relocated.Very interesting. Does tail change require other change to balance the system?
