Yuan Class AIP & Kilo Submarine Thread

I think the Yuan are considered pretty quiet, but the Stirling AIP does produce some noise when it is operating underwater.

Plus there are the hull hydrodynamics and perhaps the internals aren't rafted because the Yuan is too small?

There's not much written on the topic of submarines anywhere.

Yuan is huge for an SSK. It is the second behind the Soryu-Taige class among the largest conventional submarines in service in terms of submerged displacement. Consider that the 056A corvette has rafted internals for nearly half of its displacement.

Stirling AIP is almost completely silent because it is a continuous heat engine instead of a pulsed one like diesel or internal combustion. There are very few moving parts, maybe only a single rotary or piston mover.

Yuan is one of the bigger diesel electric subs, far larger than most European diesel.

Nobody really knows how noisy China's subs are. In fact I'd say they're likely extremely quiet. Proof? They don't even know which subs are in which fleets right now, the total count, and if Chinese subs were actually noisy they would t say so, they'd be talking about how amazingly quiet they are like the way they talk about Indian subs and Russian kilos from the 90s.

L'ho già postato nel thread PLAN News. L'unica cosa che possiamo dire con assoluta certezza su questo nuovo sottomarino è che NON è assolutamente una classe Yuan o Kilo!
I did not see him
I would like to delete what I have published here, but the program does not give the possibility to do so, or I am the one who cannot
