Russian Geographic Society staff carry the body of baby mammoth to put on display in a museum in Moscow. The 39,000-year-old baby mammoth is named Yuka, after the Yukagir coastline where she was found. Yuka was found four years ago in the Siberian permafrost and was between six and eleven years old when she died.

One thing that makes this thread enjoyable is the absence of animal cruelty. I cannot look at them or the videos even though I can watch human beheadings. But I enjoy watching videos of bulls goring matadors and others. They make my day.

Dr. Don Harris holds a 15-pound male African spurred tortoise named Lola who has swallowed a turtle pendant. Lola's owner told Harris she didn't recognise the pendant, but Harris said tortoises graze like cattle. They eat grass, plants and other vegetation, sometimes consuming rocks and other objects as well. She is being cared for at the Avian and Exotic Animal Medical Center in Miami.

Motoring enthusiasts with deep pockets can now get behind the wheel of a £1.2 million sports car - and drive it underwater. The revolutionary car is powered by an electric motor which allows it to reach a maximum speed of 75mph underwater. It was inspired by the submarine Lotus driven by James Bond in film The Spy Who Loved Me and floats when driven into water. The two-seated vehicle then submerges with the pull of a lever which sends the sports car deeper underwater.
