Not exactly a world breaking news, but it dose has impact on its own weight.

China and Tajikistan has made formal hand-over (the treaty has been signed at 2009, I believe) of some then-disputed-now-rectified some 1158 km^2 border land, from Tajikistan to China.

The picture caption by some well-researched Chinese forum member, indicating the Qing dynasty claims, the until today Tajikistan controlled area, the "exists only on my map" ROC claims, the 1949 PRC claims, and the most recent PRC regain-controlled area.

PRC regain control of 1,158km^2 area, lost claims to 27,400km^2 of now-and-then-always-effectively-under-foreign-control area. A trade-off we are too early to make any judge.

Thanks for the interesting post. Do you have anymore articles or news about it? How long has this negotiation been going on before it reaches it's current result.

@ Equation, there was a massive border line rectification and re-drawing program for China and most of its land connected neighbour ever since the Soviet collapse, the concentrated 2008~2009 period for China and respective neighbours signing treatys was to Authenticate the said rectification.

Soviet and the czar era before it, has done many of their "territory expansion" to Qing Dynasty and made some "accomplished fact" to make outer Mongolia independent and moving russian settlers into other newly-expanded territory like 外兴安岭 outer Great Xingan Mountainsat area at ROC era; at 1949, the PRC took over the actual controlled area of ROC and strugle to re-take the lost territories since then (which settled with and controlled by Soviet / Russian people).

To the topic, it is "politically right" for China to re-claim the Dynasty era territory, but for a quik reality check - they have controlled the area long enough to "psycho" people that the said area was theirs, and they could bleed for it.

What PRC has done across the brief history, was try its best to negotiate with each one that "hand out" the area they settled (or occupied) which even the Qing Dynasty didn't sign treaty for; and find as many evidence as possible to show certain area used to has been settled by Chinese and governed by Chinese and is within some abolished-unfair-treaty. (and and and, three "and" conditions, you see).

It is a paradox job for anyone involved, including the countries which hands-out lands. I can foresee at SDF this international forum, people at both side of fence could have what kind of points of view on this. I would like to point out - LEAVE IT BE.

Sad news, the world is a less innovative and wondrous place without him. The iPhone 4S is already a bit of a disappointment with reduced input from Stev because of his illness, his passing now casts some serious questions as to whether Apple will be able to continue to revolutionize the electronics world without the guiding influence of its co-founder.

I think Apple will do alright without him. That said, it's almost certainly the beginning of the end for Apples reign of terror over the technology industry. I don't mean reign of terror in a bad way, just that, almost every market Apple touched...it revolutionized and overturned.Ipod, Iphone, Ipad...

Without the vision of Steve Jobs, Apple can still be a great company, but I doubt it will be as groundbreaking as it has been.

RIP, that was unexpected in that it happened suddenly without notice and probably sooner than anyone had expected. But again Jobs is someone who likes to keep things to himself.

The news of his death is kind of sudden, as he has only resigned just a while ago. One would expect him to fight on for a while longer. RIP

I don't think anyone thinks Apple is going to fail and disband without Steve, but the question is whether they can continue to have the vision and dedication that made the company what it was.

Steve Jobs was the soul of the company, without him, Apple and the world is a poorer place.

It is sad that genius too often die young.
