We are talking about potential and future growth. Nobody says China is as developed as the US now. China is still low but that's exactly what we want in a market that we want to invest.

Kobe Steel’s data fabrication affects Toyota, Mitsubishi Regional Jet

KYODO

Kobe Steel Ltd. said Sunday inspection data was fabricated on some of its aluminum and copper products shipped to about 200 companies and the systematic misconduct started 10 years ago at factories.

While Kobe Steel did not disclose the names of the companies affected, aluminum products supplied with fabricated data were found to have been used in vehicles made by Toyota Motor Corp. and Mitsubishi Regional Jet passenger planes, which are currently being developed by a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd.

Kobe Steel said inspection data, such as on the strength of the products, were rewritten when customer specifications were not met.

Kobe Steel Executive Vice President Naoto Umehara said workers were “feeling pressure” to meet the deadlines to deliver the products, but denied that data fabrication was ordered by senior management.

The company checked products shipped over the past year and found data fabrication in about 19,300 tons of aluminum products, 2,200 tons of copper products and 19,400 pieces of aluminum forging and casting products.

An official of Mitsubishi Heavy said the aluminum products in question are unlikely to have safety problems and that the development of Mitsubishi Regional Jet will not be affected. The aircraft will be Japan’s first domestically developed jet airliner, although its delivery schedule has been repeatedly pushed back.

Toyota said it used the aluminum products in some car parts such as hoods. The company is investigating which models were involved and the impact of using the products.

Kobe Steel said it recognized the data fabrication in late August, but did not make it public until told to do so by the Economy, Trade and Industry Ministry.

The ministry has ordered Kobe Steel to conduct an investigation into the practice.

According to Kobe Steel, data fabrication was found at all its aluminum product factories in Tochigi, Mie and Yamaguchi prefectures, as well as at a subsidiary’s copper product factory in Kanagawa Prefecture.

Data fabrication involving its group stainless steel products was revealed last year.

Relax, take it easy, claiming victory does not make you win, I presented Bombardier and Embraer forecasts, you want to accept them or not is not my problem.

I say it again and this will be my last time. Forecast is not a trend.

You can tell people that you will be making US$1 million (an impressive forecast), which is a lot of money. However, if you show people that you made $3 million a couple years ago (which implies a negative growth), people will not be impressed and certainly won't invest in your company.

On the other hand, I can tell people that I will be making only $10,000 next year, significantly less than your income and a pathetic forecast. However, I was making only $15 three years ago. that's a >600 fold increase. People will be ecstatic to invest. They can buy lots of cheap stock and expect a huge upward swing.

That's the difference between a simple forecast and a more comprehensive trend analysis.

Again, I am confident that you are smart enough to understand the difference. That's why my conclusion has always been that you have been intensionally moving the goal post to avoid the topic of growth potential, which is key when discussing investment.

I am done here. You can have the last word if you want.

Forecasts are based upon trends, Bombardier and Embraer made market studies.

However you lack knowledge, do you know Embraer had a joint venture with Harbin where they were building Erj-145 and its private jet variants?

Do you know what did happen?

China Market
In providing its 20-year demand forecasts, Boeing said this week that China will need 7,240 planes valued at almost $1.1 trillion. Seventy-five percent of that will be for narrow-body aircraft as full-service and discount carriers expand routes for both leisure and business travel.

Embraer is pitching lower operating costs with its E195-E2, saying the plane -- with 132 seats in a single-class configuration -- will have demand in China and Southeast Asia.

Around 330 Embraer aircraft are flown by customers in 17 Asia-Pacific countries at present, the planemaker said in an email.

in June 2016 that they would phase out the plant in Harbin, which produced ERJ 145 regional jets and Legacy 650 business aircraft.

Demand is poised to rebound in the next three to five years as more airports are built to facilitate these aircraft, Silva said. China has about 450 private jets, while Brazil has 750 and Mexico more than 800, he said.

Check this time they are going to be build E-195s there if the set the plant.

Is China buying more? yes they are, but they are still far far away in fact at the most they can now compete with Brazil or Mexico but they are still far from Europe and the USA and Embraer is not going to set a private jet plant but a regional jet plant in the range of 150 passengers, which is the market of B-737 and A-320 with their E-195 if demand was as good as you say Embraer would not had closed the ERJ-145 plant and it would be pitching the Phenom.

They want to build the largest E-195, which is a regional jet and a small narrow body aircraft like SSJ-100 and B-737.

, the French maker of Rafale fighter jets, may build its business aircraft in India, in a boost to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s push to encourage local manufacturing.

Building the Falcon 2000 planes in India would cut costs while ensuring quality and execution that meets standards, Chief Executive Officer Eric Trappier said in an interview on the sidelines of the National Business Aviation Association’s annual conference in Las Vegas. The move will also give the company a competitive edge, he said, without elaborating.

“We really want to do something which is a real industrial cooperation in India,” Trappier said. “We are starting a big partnership.”

The Paris-based company wants to deepen its ties with the South Asian country after it bid for a defense contract worth $11 billion to supply 126 Rafale aircraft and eventually won an order for only 36 planes last year. India had initially agreed to buy all the 126 jets under a long-delayed

since 2013 with more than 400 aircraft in nearly 40 countries. Deliveries of the Phenom 300E will commence in the first quarter of 2018.

The Phenom 300E inherits the Embraer DNA Design, first introduced in its larger siblings, the Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 midsize jets. The application of this design in the Phenom 300E renders a more spacious cabin with more customization options and ease of maintainability.

The new seats in the Phenom 300E feature broader backs for greater support, extendable headrests with bolsters, and extendable leg rests for improved ergonomics. The aircraft’s seats were designed and engineered by Embraer and will be manufactured at Embraer Aero Seating Technologies, in Titusville, Florida.

The Phenom 300E features an exclusive upper technology panel (upper tech panel) along the centerline of the aircraft’s ceiling, to improve passenger ergonomics. The innovative upper tech panel presents passengers with pertinent inflight information, while allowing for convenient interaction with cabin management controls, as well as the option of inflight entertainment with audio and video on demand via two slender swing-down 7" displays. The unit also offers an enhanced cabin lighting scheme, with a broad range of ambient mood selections. Bluetooth connectivity allows passengers to view inflight information on their personal devices.

The Phenom 300E performs among the top light jets, with a high-speed cruise of 453kts and a six-occupant range of 1,971nm (3,650km) with reserves. The aircraft is capable of flying at 45,000ft (13,716m), powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535E engines with 3,200 lb of thrust each.

The advanced Prodigy Touch Flight Deck is based on the Garmin 3000 avionics suite. Other features include single-point refueling, externally serviced lavatory, and an air stair.

Rostec Assembles the 300th SaM146 Current Engine for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 at UEC – Saturn
OCT 12, 2017

ri

The 300th Russian-French SaM146 current engine for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft has been assembled at UEC – Saturn (operating as part of Rostec's United Engine Corporation) and delivered to Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company. To date, the SaM146 engine fleet has logged over 700,000 flight hours.

The SaM146 is an integrated power plant that incorporates an engine and a nacelle equipped by a thrust reverser. Deliveries and all after-sales services on the SaM146 are performed by PowerJet, a Franco-Russian joint venture between Safran Aircraft Engines and UEC – Saturn. UEC – Saturn, operating as part of Rostec State Corporation, is responsible for the design and manufacturing of a fan, a turbine and a low-pressure compressor, as well as for the general assembly and testing of the SaM146 engine, while the area of responsibility of Safran Aircraft Engines (France) covers a compressor, a high-pressure turbine, a combustion chamber, an accessory gearbox, AFC and power plant integration. The SaM146 engine and its manufacturing process are certified to the EASA and IAC AR regulations.

The SaM146 completed its certification tests in 2010 entering commercial operation as part of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 airliner in 2011. Today, the SaM146 powers international operators' aircraft both in Russia and overseas, specifically in Mexico, Ireland, Thailand (Royal Air Force) and in Kazakhstan.

"The SaM146 engine and the Sukhoi Superjet 100 are available both in and outside Russia, says SaM146 program manager at UEC – Saturn Mikhail Berdennikov. The operational experience of our engines is extremely successful in a broad range of climatic conditions, whether it be Mexico, where it is hot and high, or Yakutia, where it is cold. The engine provides excellent flight performance everywhere. The power plant has a dispatch reliability of 99.9%, which meets the best-in-class standards. At present, we have four certified variants of the SaM146: 1S17 – a baseline version; 1S18 – an improved thrust version; and two more variants – 1S17С and 1S18С – corporate aircraft versions."

Cirrus ramps up Vision Jet production
  • 27 SEPTEMBER, 2017

  • LONDON

Cirrus Aircraft has ramped-up production of the SF50 Vision Jet to 1.5 aircraft a week, as it seeks to clear the 600-strong order backlog it has for the single-engined personal jet.

Since the six-seat aircraft entered service in December 2016, the airframer has been producing units at a low rate while seeking to iron out any snags in the manufacturing process, says Matt Bergwall, director of the Vision Jet production line. The company is also taking feedback from current owners to help improve the “operational experience”, says Bergwall.
