Re: World Armed Forces Pic Thread 2
Anyone else having problems viewing the pics on this page? I sure am. I can only see about half of them.
No navy in the world has submarines like this..except the US Navy.
Norfolk, Va. (March 31, 2006) - The guided-missile submarine USS Florida (SSGN 728) arrives at Naval Station Norfolk to make a brief stop for passengers during sea trials off the coast of Virginia. Florida is scheduled to return to service in May 2006, as the second of four submarines to be converted from a ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) to the new class of guided missile submarines (SSGN). The nuclear-powered submarine will have the capability to launch up to 154 Tomahawk cruise missiles, conduct sustained special forces operations and carry other payloads, such as unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and special forces equipment.
Persian Gulf (March 31, 2006) - Following a passenger transfer, an SH-60H Seahawk assigned to the "Black Knights" of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Four (HS-4) departs the guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Champlain (CG 57). Lake Champlain is part of the Carrier Strike Group (CSG) led by USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76)
Pacific Ocean (March 23, 2006) – The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) JDS Kirishima (DDG 174), guided-missile destroyer USS Stethem (DDG 63), JDS Hatakaze (DDG 171), and JDS Harusame (DDG 171) sail in formation
