DO you see it? These Philipine marines have three things incommon with there American counterparts. Fiirst Digital camo Second M16 Third... M14. The first of these two has what looks like a unmodified M14 the second has a optical sight and is likely a DMR. M14 was designed as a service rifle in the Same class as M1 Grand. thiss meant that When the US quickly switched to M16 the M14 quickly found a role. it's longer range and bigger punch made it the American Equivilant to the SVD. and the Philippines Marines seem to have made the same call.

Two sniper or perhaps Marksmen systems The M14 pimped out with a scope and laser and a Indigenous system the Marine Scout Sniper Rifle. To be honest I don't really like it. it's 5.56mm which means it's not much more then a regular M16 except with a full power scope.

I took a few days and put together the following article, which is very much similar to the article I also did on the Liaoning.

Be warned, it is pictorially intensive (like 100 pictures), but I believe covers the entire event like no other site I have seen:

I am still editing to get all of the wording right and get rid of the typos, but thought that SD members would enjoy it and could use it as a resource. And, since it has so many military pictures, thought it would be good to have on this thread too.

Not what a citizen would want to see in any nation.

In these photos taken Wednesday, May 14, 2014 a person identified by Turkish media as Yusuf Yerkel, advisor to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, kicks a protester already held by special forces police members during Erdogan's visiting Soma, Turkey. Erdogan was visiting the western Turkish mining town of Soma after Turkey's worst mining accident.

The incident occurred during Erdogan's visit Wednesday to a coal mine in the western town of Soma where at least 283 miners were killed in Turkey's worst mining disaster. Scores of others are still missing.

Angry protesters heckled Erdogan and scuffles broke out between demonstrators and police in Soma, forcing the Turkish leader to take refuge in a supermarket before being driven off in a black vehicle.
