Nepalese riot police take cover as Maoist supporters throw stones at them in Katmandu, Nepal, Sunday, June 14, 2009. Three years after war ended in the Himalayan nation, the former Maoist guerrillas are among the biggest threats to Nepal's fragile peace. Israeli police officers scuffle with activists during a protest of Israeli and foreign activists ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech outside Bar Ilan University, near Tel Aviv, Sunday, June 14, 2009. The re-election of Iran's hard line president appears to be taking some of the pressure off Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who may well seek to shift attention from Israeli-Palestinian relations to Tehran's nuclear program when he delivers a highly anticipated policy speech Sunday.

Some really heart-wrenching stuff has come out of Iran via the Internet. I was monitoring the "iranelection#" topic on Twitter (I guess it has some use after all) and saw links to all sorts of photos and videos of the riots, like what appeared to be a man being beaten to death in the courtyard of a house by the police, and the Twitters of a Tehran University student who's friend had been shot but could not be taken to the hospital because the paramilitary police were combing the campus.

None of it carried by the mainstream media.
