This beeing naked seems to be quite issue to nonfinnish. I have no proplems to go naked to public sauna with bunch of guys I've ever met before. It doesen't mean anything "gay" or that we like to be naked in other occasions, but just that the Sauna is so natural thing to us. We mens don't have these kind of vain and unrealistic fears about our bodyes that womens in general and finnish gals goes to sauna as eagerly as we mens.
We finns don't find nudity as anyway unfamiliar or disgusting matter. Example of this is movies. In finnish movies if a person goes for example to sauna, it's not edited in anyways or the privat parts being blanked out. It's funny to see how in american movies (french movies are completly different things:p ) some clothes are always left on or the leg is in very protective position or some body parts are just being fuzz...After all nudity is the most natural thing to us humans.
Oh god, I should reconsider my vacation to Finland. maybe Estonia is much better for me. and maybe I don't want to meet you after all;)

Is the whole saunominen taking place in a public bath-ish place? Is there a minimum age? (such as you have to be 18 or 19 to go to a pub)

Mostly it's done among your family as almoust all finnish houses have a sauna. Those public saunas which I mentioned are mostly in indoor-swimming paths (in here you cannot go to the pool without frist going to sauna). But there is no minium age, My first memories about sauna was when I was about 3 years old...

But to throw some more gazoline to the fire, You all must come in winter time. As you all know we have some 200,000 lakes and most of our saunas are down by the waterside...and in winter those lakes are obviously frozen...but that wont stop us of swimming...We make this roughly 2m x 2m size hole in the ice and go swimming! It's called avantouinti...it's rather extreme to jump from 80 degree to 5 degree...

Aren't public saunas separated into men and women?
We mens don't have these kind of vain and unrealistic fears about our bodyes that womens in general and finnish gals goes to sauna as eagerly as we mens.
Really? No BS?
Saunas in Hong Kong certainly doesn't have nudity. People have a towel over their gold packs.....
And Sauna before Swimming? Is that a law? Don't see the reason.......
a little Finlandia Vodka and a nice sauna....
I prefer the cheese. Munster cheese is the house's favorite over here.
Oh god, I should reconsider my vacation to Finland. maybe Estonia is much better for me. and maybe I don't want to meet you after all
I prefer Sweden.

.

I wouldn't...they have quite similar saunas there but the swedish mens are...ok better not say more, we have few good swedish members so let's not offend them...just some finnish humoristic inferiorcomplex...;)

What are you implying about me here?

Oh well, I am never going to travel from Finland to Estonia(vice Versa) on a ship, never.

What does Finlandia mean anyway?
How did finlandia vodka mean Finnish vodka, but finland....
Nevermind, I mixed up the company name with the cheese's name..

no, nothing against you ...just a warning

Why:confused: and miss all the exitment....Estonia is beutifull country too and funny people live out there...

But Finlandia vodka is actually more of export product, we dont drink it here so often. Our national vodka brand is called Koskenkorva (rabid's ear)

But the word Finland has always been mystery among the emytholigians...propaply it means male genital or somethin related to it....kinda like land of very hrmph...productive male population:eek:
