Having two large calibre cannons makes no sense. If they need a surface bombardment vessel, build one with more than two guns, but without the AEGIS radar and only with MK41 for ESSM to keep the cost down. If they want one with fleet defence function, skip the large calibre cannon so the ships have more space for VLS

The architecture is reminiscent of 19th century iron clads and early pre-dreadnought battleships. Except for size, you can almost imagine it heading downriver to ram Union blockade ships.

I wonder what drove the earlier designs to use the reverse sloped bows since ramming was not intended. They didn't know about the "bulbous bow" and wave cancellation so it must have been something else. Maybe it helps pitch stability or results in a finer taper ratio for better fuel economy.
