BUSAN, Republic of Korea (Aug. 14, 2009) Personnel Specialist 2nd Class Michael Graham, assigned to amphibious command ship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) mans the rails as part of the honor guard while pulling into port. HELMAND PROVINCE (Aug. 11, 2009) An Afghan boy gets treated for a head wound by Navy Corpsman Brian Sandou, with Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, at Patrol Base Jaker, in Nawa District, Helmand Province, Afghanistan. The boys father brought him to base claiming that his son had fallen into a near by canal. 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, is deployed with Regimental Combat Team 3, whose mission is to conduct counter insurgency operations in partnership with the Afghan national security forces in southern Afghanistan.
