The Marines and Sailors of BLT 1/5 conducted this training to hone their combat skills in a jungle environment. The 31st MEU is the only continuously forward-deployed MEU and is the Marine Corps force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.

[h=2]1-9 Field Artillery supports coalition forces with M777’s[/h]
1st Section Bravo Battery 1-9 Field Artillery from Fort Stewart Georgia have been conducting intensive training and fire missions to support operations in Uruzgan province, Afghanistan. The gunners, based out of Forward Operating Base Hadrian in Deh Rawud district, are tasked with providing offensive support to Combined Team Uruzgan missions using M777 A2 Howitzers. The M777 A2 is a towed 155mm artillery piece that fires High Explosive, Illumination and GPS guided Excalibur rounds.

The M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle looks similar to an M16 rifle and is meant to be operated similarly as well. The IAR will replace the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon, giving Marines a lighter, more precise weapon to use while deployed.

The M27 is a heavily modified HK416 with a 16 inch heavy barrel Acog 5x sight (note the mini Red dot mounted on top of that) and Fore grip. Also Note the HK stock and pistol Grip.
The Down side of the system is At this time The Marines do not Issue magazines of Larger capacity 30 then rounds. And They just started a Crack down On Non issue gear so The Jar Head packing this is going too be lacking the ammo too feed Auto fire.
There are a number of High cap mags on the market for use at the moment before O kills them off.
