An AH-1Z Super Cobra with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 268 (Reinforced) lands aboard USS Makin Island here Dec. 29. The squadron is the aviation combat element for the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The Camp Pendleton, Calif., unit deployed from San Diego Nov. 14 as part of a regularly scheduled deployment to the Western Pacific and Middle East regions.

F-35B production aircraft BF-8 flies over the city of Fort Worth during a company acceptance test flight on Dec. 8, 2011. BF-8 is a short takeoff/vertical landing (STVOL) variant aircraft that will be delivered to the U.S. Marine Corps.

Tks Popeye for the photos. They show that the US Armed Forces are always prepared for any eventualities. Don't mess with them - the Navy, Army, Air Force & Marines have considerable experience in fighting in all terrains since WW II, and all are involved in continuous upgrading & training exercises.
