J-10s in August 1st actually do retain combat capability. They can be used for combat patrol at a moments notice, not that it’s likely.

Are you sure? I don't remember where I heard it originally but a quick Google AI query seems to say that they have their radars removed for balancing ballasts and combat gear removed for lighter smoke tanks to generate the colored contrails. The lighter configuration allows for higher TWR. I tried to check Google's sources but they're videos I don't have time to go through so I'm not sure.
Nope. This was disclosed when they interviewed August 1st in the early 2010s when they switched to using J-10.

If some of the other older models floated around are related to this, seems it might actually end up looking closer to the T-90MI am guessing it is going to get closer and closer to something like the AbramX.
To go along with these pictures of the M1E3, here are renderings of the General Dynamics Wolf and American Rheinmetall Lynx IFVs that are competing for the XM30 Mechanized Infantry Combat Vehicle (MICV) program to replace the Bradley IFV.
