Another point for US MIC being in a sorry state.

Especially the naval part.
We're completely cooked.

I think it's obvious that a fundamental shift has to happen within the DoD. Trump was supposed to revolutionize government in 2016 and 2024, but all we got instead was either more insiders or incompetent clowns.

Both parties are asleep at the wheel and are letting the country rot itself from the inside out.

It’s because the power behind the politicians are all spoiled con artists who are more interested in lining up their own pockets than actually doing stuff.

It should be noted that one of the primary reasons for this lack of training is that the USAF can't give its pilots more flight time. The old fighters are really really old now: the F-15s are on average more than 30 years old. These air frames have had so much wear and tear that their availability is very low and the more training flights they perform the faster they will wear out. The F-35 is really new and it also has fairly low availability due to teething issues and just that maintainers need more experience working on them. The F-22 is alo in bad shape because it has uses early generation RAM technology so it needs a lot of maintaining.

I don't think this is entirely true, and that the Americans would be actually better off if it were. The main problem is that they think that the best way to build a military is to purchase purely from private military companies and let capitalism do its work. This assumption functioned very well in World War II and much of the Cold War but not any more because capitalism is dead in the current US. The idea behind capitalism is that companies compete with each other and the one that can provide the best product for the least money will win out. But there barely is any competition in the MIC any more, and they're interested in ekeing out as much money out the of government as possible. Whether this process provided useful weapons for the country is a question that capitalism isn't interested in answering.

If it was just a matter of corruption, then once the corrupt leaders get replaced, the Americans should have a ready made solution. But because it's a matter of deeply ingrained beliefs, there will be no cure until the US truly wakes up.

An important reason in MIC monopoly in current day US is the brain rotten officials responsible for procurement. The disgusting habit of laying down grand projects and giving out huge orders to companies and suddenly cancelling most of them is the bane of private companies. See F22 and B2 as prime examples of this. Its simply evolution in the wrong way, where only the most unscrupulous companies can survive because they have the means of extracting heaps of money even without stable orders.
