This whole thing may have been psyops from the beginning as it seems liek the program is definitely going ahead
The idea that the US can't field hypersonics doesn't pass the smell test.
The real question is can it field them affordably.
Nah, it actually does pass the smell test.

For people who knows Chinese, go and check out some of the videos that 飞羽社 on US hypersonic progress (made a couple of videos on them).

But essentially, that they are currently having so many problems is in fact, not actually that surprising.

Although, it's also wrong to think that they will never get hypersonics working or deployed (well, what time or if there are delays? Who knows. As well as the actual 'stats' of the weapons, although likely to be worse than initially proposed in their ppts).

The XQ-67A has had its first flight. In addition to this, apparently a higher performance counterpart to the Off-Board Sensing Station (OBSS) called the Off-Board Weapon Station (OBWS). No word on how far along that program is.

Not exactly US Military related, but the Wall Street Journal is reporting that Boeing is in talks to purchase Spirit AeroSystems who they split with about two decades ago.

Are those small weapon bay doors (less likely) or possibly side looking radar apertures?

Why are people always jumping to the 4D chess explanation?

It is entirely plausible that this program was threatened with cancellation, so the guys at Lockheed (or whatever) got off their asses and started working.

But anyway, even assuming that the missile works perfectly (doubtful), you need to set up a production line for the missile, you need to build-up a stockpile, you need to build an operational concept around it, train people how to use it, and maybe even test-fire it a few times for training.

They're not even the ame things, JF-17, FA-50 and Tejas are fighters, this thing is a trainer jet and should be compared to something like the L-15.
Stop posting stuch low quality garbage.
