This is a crucial moment for shipping. The Jones Act faces fierce opposition. US ports struggle with insufficient funding. Shipyards are letting the Navy down. Wall Street funnels money into China’s shipping industry while American shipping languishes. European allies plead for LNG to address a dire energy crisis. US Merchant Ships confront threats and surveillance from Russian and Chinese warships. The UN asserts that world hunger hinges on maritime transportation.

MARAD has a pivotal responsibility in addressing these challenges, yet the ghost admiral remains conspicuously silent.

Lmao the himars missed with 6 missiles at a corvette ship size target only 12 miles away???

I mean sure, it seems like the missile used has no guidance, but if so, it shouldn't have been used in the first place.

Which general or whoever behind the exercise ordered to use himars lol.

We are talking about useful use case against China though. If not anti-ship, what else?

It is one of the very, very few American weapons that the Taiwanese have outright rejected... Maybe they can give it away to MBS as as an armed yacht.
AFAIK most LCS doesn't have NSM or Hellfire integrated. They also don't have a working MCM or ASW module. And of course no area air defense to speak of. So the ship is a 600 million helicopter platform with a 57 mm gun and a lot of reliability issues. I am usually against this kind of simplification but this ship warrants it. Who in their right mind would buy such a platform? Literally less firepower and utility than offshore patrol vessel.

The Defense Department has begun an effort to prevent major delays in the Air Force’s new $96 billion intercontinental ballistic missile, after an internal review found it may miss its initial deployment goal of 2029 by two years.

Sentinel ICBM development looks like it could be delayed by 2 years.

Two US Army AH-64 Apache helicopters have crashed in Alaska following a training mission, Pentagon officials say, adding that the aircraft carried two soldiers each. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the incident.

The helicopters crashed near the town of Healy in central Alaska on Thursday, about 80 miles southwest of their base at Fort Wainwright, according to the US Army’s 11th Airborne Division.

“First responders are on the scene. The incident is under investigation and more information about the incident will be released when it becomes available,” the division said in a

Military spokesman John Pennell later added that a total of four people were aboard the aircraft, though he offered no details about their status or whether there were injuries. The AH-64 gunship typically carries a crew of two – a pilot and a gunner.

injuring two soldiers from the Army’s 25th Attack Battalion in February, also in Alaska. The accident occurred as the aircraft was taking off and resulted in damage to the helicopter, with the military saying it had not determined whether it could be salvaged at the time.

last month, after two HH-60 Black Hawks collided in midair during what officials called a “routine training mission.” All of the troops were assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, and were said to have crashed while using night-vision and flying in a two-helicopter formation. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, with
