I wish the Navy and Marine Core had something like this.

EDIT: It also just hit me that at one point in time there was almost 26,000!!!!!!!11!!!!1!! aircraft in inventory! You think maintaining aircraft today is hard, holy shit, I have no clue how they managed that!

Aircraft used to be less sophisticated and in the case of fighter aircraft, more of them are needed to defend a particular patch of airspace due to the lack of long range AA weapon and shorter range. Think how China used to operate thousands of J-6 and how those were obviously not replaced in an one to one manner.

Not exactly, they did Have a longer range capability, it’s just that you probably prefer not to use it. Nuclear tipped surface to air and air to air missiles.
Plus you didn’t have precision long range weapons. Today each B52 can haul about 20 cruise missiles nuclear or conventional tipped where those old bombers might have “serviced” one maybe two targets. Where today each operational B52 is worth 20 targets without entering enemy territory. That’s 20 targets with a very high certainty of success. Farther fighters took a lot of the bombers roles.

How in the blazing fu@k does one manage to do that. Is this a photoshop or does the USA not know how to take care of their own equipment. This I could’ve sworn is something that could definitely be seen happening to India, but the USA, man something is going seriously wrong
Well you know, street sh*tting is now legal in some parts of USA...

I call it the Nikki Haley effect
