So, how can you explain that the USS Boxer (5th fleet) is in the same state like the ships of the 7th fleet ?
That's just surface corrosion. Easily treatable. The ship had just transited to the Gulf region from San Diego.
This surface corrosion is nothing new.
US Navy ships have been busy for decades. They are no more rusty than years gone by. Just my opinion.
Behold. USS Oriskany 1972 in drydock in Yokosuka Japan under going emergency repairs;
This picture of the Oriskany in dry dock were taken in Yokosuka, Japan during 1972–1973 West Pac. During that West Pac Cruise Oriskany had to go into dry dock twice in 1972 because she dropped a screw along with several feet of propeller shaft into the Gulf of Tonkin on two separate occasions."Bob Canchola, BT3, USS Oriskany 1971–1973

In this link you will see many photos provided to DVIDS from the 7th fleet;
Anlsvrthng, Each one of us is entitled to his/her own opinion. My opinions are based on my 20 years of service with the US Navy from August 1971 until August 1991 & other active duty USN sources... I respect your opinion and you have some very valid points. I cannot answer for what admirals and other mouthpieces for the US Navy have to say. Or explain why they lie at times. Not I cannot. I'm not the judge of men. I've provided links to several thousand US Navy photos of the seventh fleet and USS Boxer. At this time I'm done discussion this issue. Thank you. You have a blessed day.
