In a recent CCTV report, a robot dog was used for parameter patrol around a PHL-03 MLRS, essentially serving as a sentry and patrol while the PHL-03 was being prepped to fire.

Red Kestrel's remote weapons station for UGVs and robot dogs. The optical turret attachment integrates daytime and thermal cameras along with a laser range finder. It also features AI target recognition and tracking.

Imo kestrel should really have something more ergonomic than a upside down qbz-95, are they cheaper because of the phase out for qbz-191?

In other (slightly terrifying) news, US companies are selling unitree go 2s with mounted flame throwers for <$10k.

That's a $1600 robodog with a $700 flamethrower strapped onto it. And it's selling for $7k. The markup is insane.

On a sidenote, due to their low cost, unitree robots will likely be like DJI, the face of robot dogs. There will likely be many people strapping whatever insane shit they can to a unitree dog and experimenting

Strapping an assault rifle upside down is likely the most ergonomic way to mount a rifle to the robot dog, because it gets the gun's center of gravity and its bore as close to the robot as possible to reduce recoil, while also giving easy access to the magazine well.
