Here's that NORINCO UGV again. It's capable of autonomous patrol, autonomous reconnaissance, and autonomous strike, as well as providing fire support to troops.

P.S. Does anyone know its designation? I was never able to find it anywhere.

okay this is mind blowing for me at least. Why do you still need soldiers if you can get this to work right?

It's definitely a cool demo, but I won't take this stuff seriously until they're doing it outside in bad weather on rough terrain instead of inside with climate control on smooth concrete. Getting something to work perfectly in the lab is a long way from realistic field conditions.

Also, who knows how much it costs to procure and maintain these things.

It is being built by university research lb. So yeah, if you put this tech in a real military environment, they can improve reliability a lot. The key here is just the rotation, mobility and such. It can handle and fire against so many more targets than a robot dog.

robotization taking place in Chinese society ..

just see this short video.

this Chinese father makes a military robot toy for his son, which looks as cool as a science fiction movie. and he is an ordinary engineer. this trend indicate where Chinese society is heading for.. bunch of startups and already full backing of Chinese government. sky is the limit

You can build them pretty big too.

Main concern is probably battery life of a dynamically balanced system.
