The ROE never changed. Any armed civilian is treated as a combatant and will be shot on sight. This is according to the Geneva Convention. We have been telling since the start this will lead to needless loss of life. Civilians vs trained soldiers... Repeat of the Volkssturm.
Hitler gave rifles and Panzerfaust AT rifles to children and old men to fight Soviet tanks. The result was horrific civilian losses with minimal Soviet troop losses. It took training to aim the Panzerfaust and you would be dead by the time you finished aiming. Aiming a rifle with high recoil with minimal training in how to hold it, and without proper marksmanship training is also a losing situation.

There were a few videos of Ukrainians throwing molotovs at passing tanks without any firing back.
The success of that encounter spread and probably spurned on more copycats.

People thinking they'll be safe, but they get a 30mm autocannon round to the head instead.
It's awful if people are doing it thinking they're safer than they really are. Half patriotism, half stupid statements by Zelensky.

Not going to say this about people who are committed to the future insurgency knowing all the risks though.
Just can't forgive it if they were mislead.

Most propably the difference between the succesfull ones and the death ones the situation.


The succesfull ones targeted units in convoy or on the move to the target point.

If they willing to leave 10 million $ worth of Pantsir on field because it slowing them down then they won't stop due to few 100ml of burning petrol.


But if they patroling or cleaning areas then they have time to take care of the America Captains.

I saw that video. There are two versions. A long one and a short one.
If you watch the long one. That tank which got the molotov cocktail hit. Was being towed by a (blue) civilian tractor.
It was an abandoned vehicle. Might have had broken engine. There were no troops inside.
The video was just a giant stunt.

Zelenskyy should have never been elected. He is just plainly irresponsible and takes his own people's lives lightly.
If he wanted to truly resist he should have started mobilization early and not propose this kind of bullshit.

I was referring to multiple videos of molotov attacks on MRAPs and apcs as they were passing through towns.
Haven't seen that tractor video.

Here it is. It is a pure stunt. You can hurt yourself just making the damned things or throwing them. It will also do no real damage to a modern armored vehicle. At best you will burn the paint. You would have to pour a drum of burning gasoline into the engine block down the air vents to have any effect i.e. a mobility kill. Good luck doing that.

It was somewhat effective back before armored vehicles had NBC protection. When tanks were riveted and there were gaps between panels where burning fuel could pass. NBC protected vehicles have overpressure protection. They are welded and air tight. The fuel will never enter the fighting compartment where the soldiers are.

About 70% reliable for war reporting only. They've got many facts of the Syrian War correct. They've even debunked Russian fake news. Other stuff from Southfront, not very credible. Their analysis pieces heavy with hysteria of some impending crisis. Nevertheless, they've predicted the Jihadist color revolution in Kazakhstan when Obama was still POTUS.

There is no doubt that Southfront is very pro-Russia, and their views reflect that. Their other problem is that they have a couple of contributors from conservative America, and India. These clowns polluted Southfront with MAGA and Jai Hind nonsense. Hence I don't really read their opinion pieces there. Just their war reports.

the Ukraine operation may take one month, or a little bit longer. the final battle will be in Lviv. like Fallujah and Kandahar, the die hard elements will take the final stand.
