On the media propaganda front: the west has gone full stasi. On reddit anyone posting anything pro Russia is being flagged or taken down as Russian disinformation. RT in Europe is gone. It's only still in the UK because its heavily neutered by OFCOM and is popular with a few vocal dissident politicians.
I imagine they'll start cracking down on the pro-Ukraine side too soon. Having a significant portion of your populace riled up for a war you don't want to fight isn't very smart.
It's Putins fault. He got Crimea and 2 pieces of Ukrainian land with very little sanctions and repercussions. De facto the world recognized Crimea as Russian territory. The 2018 football WC was held in Russia and the Germans did away with their nuclear energy supply to get hooked up on Russian gas.
Puin squandered any goodwill away in one stupid mistake. Putin has gone mad. I'm not joking. He is legit crazy. Just look at how he receives his ministers, Cos and other officials. He has lost touch with reality.
The Europeans were very accommodating to Putin. Now not anymore. The Germans are arming up and the entire western world is ganging up on Russia. Putin united a fractured west with this stupid mistake.
The only way for Russia to somewhat mitigate this mistake is to put Putin out of office.
