Professor Xu Guoqi and his 4 other colleagues are all western educated historians which we have to be very honest and blunt their guiding principles and moral philosophy are in some ways infected with western idealism and worldview. While I can sympathize with the message of "Peace" and "War" isn't an ideal solution to resolve any conflict we must not forgotten that the existence of most modern nation states were forged in bloody war.
As someone already alluded to the earlier comments made by an often quoted/studied strategist Carl Von Clausewitz, stating that "War is simply the continuation of political intercourse with the addition of other means."
While I may disagree with our esteemed Chinese historians view regarding Russia, I can't simply dismiss their comment as naive or "traitorous" as some vocal critics online have done. Part of me thinks that their concern is primarily for China's welfare and it's ambition to achieve the Chinese rejuvenation. How is that going to be achieved if the world is turn into ruin?
Interesting and difficult times ahead for China and the rest of the world for sure. Let's see where this new changing world order will take us.
I thought that was just propaganda.
The English are always like this, they are outside of the continent, and they always try to undermine and play the divide and conquer.
There is a time and place for a proper discussion of such big ideas, just not now in a middle of a war.
Since the English are publicizing this, this is the same unsavory things they always do.
