Pivot to Asia and the US attempts to face China in the global south is dead. China, barring any major missteps, will overtake the US economically by 2025, technologically by 2030, militarily by 2035.
The US will never experience the peace dividend they had post-90's ever again. Their military spending will continue to grow ever larger trying to support older and older equipment, too committed to too many things to ever replace and repair, and funding ever more reckless overseas expeditions in an attempt to hang onto every bit of their empire, letting their fundamental infrastructure at home crumble to dust.

Zelensky fucked up because he didn't order a mobilization a month earlier.
And started actual fortification of the capital. They were never given the time.
Kyiv could easily have been a much harder nut to crack. Not days, but weeks and months without even sending every child and grandma into the front lines with molotovs.
A bit ranty, but I don't think Kyiv urban fighting is going to be a big thing unlike what the breathless accounts tell us.
