A bloodbath more or less. Ukrainian leader will have a lot of blood on their hands for that decision.

Precisely, which is why I wrote "The Tomorrow War" which was the title of the movie I referenced that comment from. In that movie starring Chris Pratt, the soldiers of the future are literally dying for survival and in the desperate hour of need they have managed to invent a device where you can go back in time in which the future try to stupidly recruit normal individuals without going through any training and be sent to fight against genocidal aliens of the future. You can see how well that scenario all worked out...
Yes, any Ukrainian troop movement in large formation will be taken out with artillery or bombers. The only areas with significant Russian casualties will be city fighting. Even there, all the experiences they learned from fighting in Syria should come in handy.
