Just one. The Russians are still fighting. There are some twits in the Ukrainian gov who keep saying its been taken back and then have to clarify about 15 minutes later that Hostomel/Anatov is still contested.
They won't be able to hold without constant reinforcements. Ukraine just needs to bomb/artillery strike the airstrip and keep consuming the Russian forces inside

Its a big risk to capture an airport behind enemy lines and not commit on constant reinforcements in order to form a bridgehead

Retired US Army Colonel Doug McGregor urged to accept Russia's position on Fox News. He states after the invasion of Ukraine: "The first thing we have to do is accept Putin's point of view.

Accept not just Putin's point of view but that of all of Russia, which they held for all 25 years. One must accept that it is worth it. They don't want American and NATO troops on their borders. We didn't want them in Cuba, they don't want us at home. Everything is logical. We need to recognize this. Stop pretending it's not a problem," said the retired colonel.
A video would be great. You don't hear opinions like that in western media. Everyone sounds like the same note.

No worries. What may be happening is the Ukrainians attack and the VDV troops scatter. the VDV troops may regroup and counterattack again.

TOTAL SPECULATION.
Pretty much my impression. Retreat, counterattack.

Russia has shown it can strike anywhere in Ukraine with devastating force. If things get dicey they call in support.

Either way, it must be tough to defend an airport from an entire army.

Latest news is that the Hostomel airport has (again?) been recaptured by the Ukranians:

I haven’t been able to figure out Russia’s central strategy just yet and I think it’s because we’re still at the generalist stage of the operation where specific objectives haven’t necessarily been acted upon just yet.

Possibly, at this stage, the Russians are just trying to hit as many points as they can to diffuse the concentration of any Ukrainian responses.

However, it does seem that there is a Russian focus on gaining and holding ground outside of Crimea. It will be interesting to see if they try to move both east and west out of Crimea or if they simply move toward the west.
