Since there is no topic about the Georgian army, we publish it here. Ukraine also received similar grenade launchers. The Georgian Ministry of Defense received the first batch of Spanish C90 reusable grenade launchers produced by Instalaza. S90 series grenade launchers were also supplied to Ukraine. 90 mm C90 grenade launchers began to be developed in the eighties and have been modernized since then. The grenade launcher is capable of penetrating up to 500 mm of steel and 1000 mm of concrete. Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze himself checked the grenade launcher at the test site. The firing range of the grenade launcher, depending on the ammunition, is up to 350 meters for point targets and up to 700 meters for area targets. The grenade launcher is equipped with an optical and opto-electronic sight e-VISION with the ability to select an aiming reticle depending on the type of ammunition used and a magnification factor of 2.5 times. The grenade launcher can be equipped with a night vision device and a thermal imaging sight. The weight of the grenade launcher is about 5 kilograms. The price of the C90 grenade launcher is about 2100 euros.

Ukraine will receive German Caracal assault vehicles. The German concern Rheinmetall announced that Ukraine should become the first recipient of Caracal (4x4) vehicles. Under a contract financed by the German government, Ukraine should receive the first five Caracal vehicles by the end of 2023 and a number in 2024. The Caracal air assault vehicle was developed by the German defense company Caracal and was first shown in 2023. The vehicle has a modular design and can be used for transporting troops and cargo, medical evacuation and other purposes. The vehicle can be equipped with machine guns and ATGMs, depending on the mission. The "Caracal" car was created on the Mercedes-Benz G-model 464 series chassis. The power plant is a 6-cylinder Mercedes-Benz diesel engine with a power of 249 hp. which allows the car to reach speeds of up to 130 km/h. The vehicle is able to cross a ford 0.7 meters deep and trenches 0.5 meters deep.

The Ukrainian army began using the rare Soviet BMP-1TS with the Spear combat module. The Ukrainian combat module "Spear" was developed in 2014 and is equipped with a 30-mm automatic cannon, a 7.62 mm PKT machine gun, a 30-mm KBA-117 automatic grenade launcher and two Barrier ATGMs. In the video, the module is not fully assembled. The module's armor provides protection against armor-piercing bullets of 7.62 mm caliber. The BMP-1TS fire control system includes a two-plane stabilizer, a ballistic computer and an automatic target tracking system.

This seems like a decent upgrade on paper similar to the Russian's Berezhok turret for the BMP. To make it even better they could upgrade the engine like the Poles did with their BWP-1 upgrades.

The first footage of the use of 120-mm M120 Rak self-propelled mortars made in Poland by the Ukrainian army has been published. The M120 Rak mortar has been produced since 2016 and is placed on the chassis of the Polish Rosomak armored personnel carrier; we previously talked about it. Ukraine ordered 24 M120 Rak self-propelled mortars and they are now used by the 44th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian armed forces. The mortar is located in an armored rotating turret. Mortar pointing angles from -3 to +85 degrees. The firing range of a conventional mine is up to 8500 meters, with active-reactive ammunition up to 12000 m. Rate of fire: up to 12 rounds per minute. The transition time from the vehicle from the traveling position to the combat position is no more than 30 seconds. The ammunition capacity of the M120 Rak self-propelled mortar is 46 min, the combat weight of the vehicle is 24 tons.

The Ukrainian army began construction of defensive lines similar to those previously created by the Russian army. Ukrainian engineering units in the Sumy, Kyiv and Chernigov regions are installing anti-tank structures and digging trenches. In addition, pits for concrete bunkers are being prepared.

Wow, the frontline is nowhere near those regions. It would suggest they are at least entertaining the idea of the Russians breaking through and taking everything east of the Dniepr.

This area is suspected to be the next possible front of a new Russian offensive. I am inclined to think that's true.

Yes. Once Russia has superiority in numbers against Ukraine after the mobilization it is quite likely they will try to lengthen the frontline again.
So it makes sense for Ukraine to build defenses in the north. The thing is they should have done that a long time before already.
