What is so impressive taking out a surveillance drone? The JF-17 did it in 2017 and PAF professionally refused to comment on it. When the USAF took down an Iranian drone as well they didn’t say that it demonstrated the F-15E’s air combat excellence. Even the Saudis, who took out dozens of these drones with their Eurofighter, never said much about it.

Every article written about a non story like this is a welcome distraction from the complete mess we are experiencing domestically right now.

Britain's colonial era still brings so much benefits to it even today. Just look at how it can export billions worth of GCS frigates to its colonies despite being overpriced junk

They can hand out George crosses for shooting drones for all I care.

The biggest objection is the fact that a Syrian drone operating in Syria is deemed "terrorist", and not the RAF plane which is engaged in an illegal war with no UN mandate.

Just goes to show the paucity of air to air kills in recent years. The only remotely "impressive" ones in the past decade has been against ground attack types like the Su-17 and Su-24 or near obsolete fighters like the Mig-21 Bison.
