With a all but confirmed beam of 48~50 meters + significant overhang for its flight deck, the hull form of Type 076 is likely very different from America Class LHA. It represents a significant departure from all existing naval architypes.

We should be able to see very soon if it sports a angled flight deck as depicted in some fan made CGI, as well as the number of electromagnetic catapults and the placement of elevators.

I checked with Google Earth, the width of the dry dock is around 80m. Looking the latest photo, using the proportion of existing width of the ship against dry dock's width, a rough estimate of widest width of the current shipshape is around 46m wide.

In comparison, CV Liaoning's beam is between 35 to 74m as per wikipedia.

For the purpose of clarity, differentiating between hull beam and flight deck width for aircraft carriers and amphibious assault ships would be useful.

Suggesting Liaoning's beam is "between 35 to 74m" can be incorrectly interpreted as meaning hull beam as varying between that, whereas I know you mean the hull beam is 35m while flight deck width is 74m.

Anyhow from memory I think the Kuznetsov class has a bit of a bigger hull beam than 35m, I think if was more like 37m but I may be wrong.

When referring to a naval vessel's beam, it is customary to denote the waterline beam. What you are talking about is the flight deck width.

To put things into context, Fujian has a waterline beam of ~40 meters and the America class 32m. To estimate the Type 076 waterline beam, one needs to use older satellite photos. The current state of the ship has advanced well above the waterline.

PLAN needs to seriously up the naval helicopter production if they are going equip all these flat decks

a 4th Type 075 LHD is on the way and now the Type 076 LHA

a Z18J AEW would also be a good addition on this flat deck as well as Z-18F

Z8D wide body with larger compartment for insertion of naval commandos or marines

and certainly Z20F and Z20J

in addition they will need Naval Z10 and Z19 or even heavy naval Z21 which would be used to provide close air support for the landing parties

if it has a well deck Type 726 LACA in combination with rotary wing and also fixed wing UCAVS will add further dimension to combat and will take a good few years to master
