I think what China needs is more helicopter and other vertical transport capability. Maybe something like a tiltrotor.
They would still need places to operate from. And for greater distances between allied land bases and combat zones (ECS, SCS and maybe even the southern stretch of the Taiwan Strait), more LHD/As (and perhaps LPDs too) will certainly be needed.
