The leading F-16 in the photo may be one of the MURAD-100A-equipped F-16 trial aircraft; it could also be one of the first production deliveries, since the -100A has already entered LRIP and Kızılelma is set to enter service with it later this year too...

This may be the correct answer within NATO guidelines - that NATO protection doesn't extend to Israel. "Let's not forget Oct 7" = NATO did not aid Israel. Clever answer.

What's the purpose? To appease Americans (F-35)? To give opportunity to a Russian system to showcase itself as potentially more useful in AD?
