The US would sabotage any such deal by withholding the engines.
We can't know for sure. They'll prolly offer them the F-35 to block a potential Kaan deal.

But seeing as the indigenous engine is coming along nicely they won't be able to block such a deal at all.

The engine might have very well been shown to the Saudi air chief and his entourage last week...

I'm becoming more and more convinced that Kaan's indigenous engine is situated between the TF6000 and TF10000 with regards to its development. E.g. it is actually produced and assembled but not yet ignited. The engine is developing faster than we think. And we might have already seen the first real pic of the thing.

I hope we'll hear more about it at Saha Expo. If not, then perhaps the President himself will say something about it at the delivery of the 3 Gokbeys on the 29th of October.

- At IDEF '23 Mahmut Aksit apparently said they were producing the molds for the parts of the engine.

- In December '23 Mesut Casin said that parts of the engine are being produced.

- In January this year Mete Yarar confirmed that parts of the engine are being produced and mentioned the engine having 38000 lbf of thrust

- At Teknofest this month Mahmut Aksit spoke very optimistically about the engine and said we won't have to wait for long to see the engine

- On the 14th of October Eray Gucluer said that the engine is about to be integrated in the Kaan to see whether it fits and mentioned the figure of 39000lbf of thrust. On that same day we see an unidentified (I tried to compare it to the F110 and F404 but they don't resemble) engine with covers behind the Kaan P0 pictured at the visit of the Saudi Air Force chief on the SSB directors' twitterpage.

@Radonislav If I've missed something please feel free to add/correct/comment.
i have some questions.

what is the current progress of TF6000 turbofan engine ?? i mean integration with Kızılelma and serial production news.

Turkey is producing F-110 engine at home under license. isn't KAAN local engine based on F-110 core or its completely new design.

it seems KAAN and domestic engine progress is so rapid. then why Turkey want to spend extra Billions on Euro Typhoon .. i mean you can wait for few more years. i m saying this because as per the news you guys posting, KAAN and local engine progress is super fast ..

thanks

Had 60 runs, the first engine is dismantled for research while a 2nd has been produced.

No Kizilelma integration so far. Baykar is planning to design and produce their own engines so they won't perse use TF6k/10k. Maybe they will for the Turkish airforce, who knows?

serial production news
No news so far on serial production of TF6000. It's too early for that.

Completely new design.

Turkish airforce always had a 400+ size fighter fleet and it's now down to 260-ish. They want more fighters and they are considering multiple fighters all at once because of contingency planning and getting the best deal for the buck.
