Huge boost to the anti-tank/anti-air capability of the Turkish army:

“We delivered 3 of our Pedestal Mounted CİRİT (KMC) System to our Land Forces Command. The KMC System is a very successful system and will be a serious force multiplier for our Land Forces. We are also working on the export of the KMC System. Hundreds of these vehicles will be produced. We will be able to launch all of our UMTAS, L-UMTAS, CİRİT, OMTAS and SUNGUR Missiles from the same vehicle. We will gather all of the Air Defense, Anti-Tank and Anti-Personnel capabilities on one platform.

"We exported our UMTAS and OMTAS Anti-Tank Missiles to countries in Europe and Africa. There is a lot of demand for our missiles right now.”

DefenceTurkey magazine had an interview with the MoD of Latvia:

"We believe that we should integrate closer the Latvian military industry and Turkish military industry because you have a number of interesting products which we could buy and develop also in Latvia. We are looking for Turkish investors in our country because we need to shorten logistic lines provisions for Army which means we cannot only buy abroad…"

"We would be very pleased if Turkey deploys Bayraktar TB2s to Latvia for a few months. If they're deployed at our air bases for three or six months, we'll both test and use them for observation missions. That would be a very welcome support."

In the statement made by Pabriks on the subject, "We have not signed the agreement (for Bayraktar TB2) yet. This does not mean that we are indifferent because we are interested in many industrial products produced by Turkey. Of course, we also need to consider our budget. We want to test Bayraktar TB2s in our own skies. We are currently discussing this with the Department of Defense. So no, I'm not saying we won't buy it, but I can't go and say we're getting this system tomorrow. We are interested and want to test these systems. My visits to Turkish defense industry companies will continue. I will be meeting with many companies. I can't even remember their names. In addition to UAV systems, we deal with air defense systems, electronic warfare systems, armored vehicles and heavy vehicles. We deal with many products. The delegations of the two countries will meet in April to make a list of these products. Both Turkish and Latvian defense industry companies will come together. After these talks, we will decide how to act. What will be the first steps, what will be the second and third steps… Because it is not possible for us to do everything at once. I don't want to sound too hopeful right now because that's life, it takes some time."

The Altay tank will be mated with the Korean powerpack in May.

"The engine of the ALTAY Tank came from South Korea. The engine and its power systems are currently being tested. We look forward to May. We will see the prototype of the ALTAY tank with that engine in May. There is no regression in that equation."

Turkey should pester the Germans again. Now that they sent weapons to a nation in conflict like Ukraine they better do the Leopard 2 upgrade. It is kind of lame they provide ATGMs to the Kurds in Iraq while denying Turkey the tank upgrade program in the first place I think.

Yes they should, but Turkiye can do the Leopard 2 upgrade by themselves just fine. As a matter of fact, the first 81 Leo2 are currently being upgraded with Roketsan armor package. The issue here is the MTU+Renk powerpack for the Altay that Germany isn't delivering.

Mass production of the Add-on armor for the Leopard 2A4 by Roketsan has started.

SSB director said the following about the Harimau/Kaplan MT:

“The governments of both countries support domestic turret production. You will receive full support if you proceed in this direction. I can announce that we will produce a domestic turret for Harimau without the need for a third country.”

Yesterday the CEO of FNSS said that they are looking into designing a turret for medium tanks. Aselsan has also been looking into it for some time now.

LMAO German jealousy never ceases to surprise me :D

According to information conveyed at the ceremony by FNSS General Manager Nail Kurt, after FNSS exhibited the first full-scale model of Kaplan MT, a German firm said sarcastically to FNSS officials and other parties: “If you sign an agreement with FNSS, you will only receive the plastic models.” Kurt noted that after these sarcastic words, they eagerly started production and produced the real tank after 1.5 years.

Ukraine is already gone at this point so I think the engines should work out fine for the prototypes but they really should start seeking other alternatives for the serial production. Maybe F124 or Turbomeca Adour could work?
The French one should work and relatively secure in supply chain ,not too late to change the design but is there any official announcement about that?
