This made sense yesterday - and still does from the perspective of the current US regime. So I'm curious what the more seasoned political watchers think of this mother of all TACOs at Davos? A bait and switch? Or do they really have no firm strategy, as it certainly seems on the face of it?

People throw around TACO too prematurely. This is Trump's favourite negotiation tactic: create an issue, and then offer to withdraw that issue as leverage.

China > TACO > Eurocucks; that's the food chain. Trump doesn't TACO to Eurocucks just like lions don't get eaten by dear... but a bear, that's another story. Trump hasn't dared talk shit to China since his smackdown in Korea.
