Yeah he's bullshitting. They start at ~$50K and very very very few top level guys get to $160K. Least that's what Google tells me. But $50K is a lot of money for racists who can't read and have anger issues and being able to bully people makes this a dream job.

Looking at videos of what they do really gets me mad and I have to remind myself that they're turning the US into a Nazi state, damaging American freedoms and reputation and causing economic harm to China's only rival. The most common thing I see online is people saying that they previously wondered how Germany, a country once known for virtue and opposing slavery, fell to the radical Nazis but now they know how it all happened as they're seeing it step-by-step in the US. I should be thanking ICE because this is more ammo than anyone will ever need against Americans criticising China's human rights.

I wonder what will happen in 2028 when a democrat comes into office. ICE is going to be disbanded or it's going to be reduced to 2 small town gramps kinda guys giving out pamphlets. Immigration enforcement's going to be dead and Mexicans can probably just walk over the border in parades. Big question is what's going to happen to these ICE terrorists. Will they be simply fired or will criminal charges pile on for overstepping authority? Or will they get really crazy with them and release a names list so they become unemployable and harassed all the time everywhere?

I would not dismiss that claim so easily out of hand. There are actually at least a couple of scenarios where that figure could be true, or at least only be slightly exaggerated.

Firstly, IIRC, ICE was offering up to $100K signing on bonuses. So 100k plus 50k basic salary plus various bonuses and supplements could easily add up to around $200k.

Secondly, ICE pay private contractors performance based fees, so this guy could just be a bounty hunter or even street thug cosplaying as ICE and getting paid for each ‘illegals’ he hauls in. Depending on the per head rate, $200k PA is not at all outside the realm of possibility.

What can I say? It literally pays to be a fascist in America right now. Feeling the freedoms yet?

I'm searching and it's saying that it's a $50K sign on plus potential for loan forgiveness and if you add that to the salary, you can get $100K. Nowhere would it get near $200K unless you were some Hans Landa level Nazi (though certainly without the intellect or class).

The way I see it is that the west never really got rid of its aristocracy and it’s functionally still largely a medieval society where the blueblood ‘betters’ rules over the commoners. Some concessions have been made to allow a select few upwards mobility to join the monied ruling elite, which is how the west maintains its social order. The commoners don’t rage and fight against this inherently unjust system because they have been bribed by the illusion of hope that it could be them that gets selected to be elevated. So rather than try to change the system to be fairer to the overwhelming majority, everyone dreams about climbing to the top to lord over and shit on everyone else below them. There are many such routes, either literal lotteries or self-made, but the overwhelming majority of such lucky tickets can be obtained by getting into one of the top 0.1% paying elite jobs.

Great write up. The issue is more complicated than having a permanent aristocracy. The industries in U.S. is meritocratic, they have to be. Many of the people who made it big did not rely on their rich daddy. Bill Gates might be born in a rich and powerful family, that still does not negate the contribution he made to our society on his way to make his billions. The issue I see is that our political system allow these powerful billionaires, however they came to the money, to subordinate the national interest for their own benefits. A good example is the MIC. Every year, we need to keep having wars so they can profit while this drains the lifeblood out of the country. Our system is still better when comparing to Western Europe, for example. There is still plenty of motivations for those with ability and motivation to come up with new products and join the club in the U.S. Take a look at how many new companies came out of Europe compared to the U.S. They missed the internet revolution and now also not able to have any meaningful presence in the AI revolution. I do think that most of the native population becoming less and less productive is an issue that will doom this country.

not sure how much has changed. but back in my days, PA were ex military (or current military) medtechs who wanted to further their clinical scopes. 7 years of school is usally accompanied with 5-10 years of experience as a medtech in the military.

There is going to be a huge national reckoning. No more healing and bringing the country back together without it and not punishing bad faith Republicans and calling out the cheerers and instigators of totally partisan justice.

To be honest, I don't think there will be a national reckoning as long as both sides have a strong political base. Currently, we are seeing the contention between the right and left wingers starting to fully manifest itself in an ugly manner, and this was brewing for quite awhile (e,g: Proud Boys and Antifa). As the US debt and COL continue to rise, the division will further deepen regardless of who goes into office in 2028. Both sides will continue to blame and intensively hate each other while the rich continues to hoard. Red and blue states will continue to deepen in color.
