Another masterful move by Trump; bailing out Argentina so they can sell soybeans to China instead of US farmers.

The Trump administration threw

a financial life raft this week, and Argentina promptly responded by offering China an enticement in the form of untaxed soybeans. It's a harsh blow to already struggling U.S. soybean farmers, and illustrates the complex implications of rescuing a close ally.

On Monday, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced concepts for broad financial support to stabilize Argentina's economy, including potential loans, currency purchases and debt buying. Argentina's currency, the peso, rallied on the news.
  • Argentina, looking to rake in more capital, suspended its export taxes on several products Monday, including its 26% soybean tax.
  • That attracted China, historically the top buyer of U.S. soybeans, to Argentina. China

Argentine soybean purchases overnight Tuesday to 20 cargoes, following an uptick earlier in the week.
  • This further priced out U.S. soybean farmers, who are already grappling with a 20% tariff imposed by China on their soybeans.

Only those who can make valuable contributions. There are Chinese people who are US citizens working on US military projects, cutting edge bioscience, AI, etc... If they are the type that is innovative and desired by China, they should be patriotically obligated to return.

But that is not most people. If a Chinese person is in the US fixing cars, installing drywall, cooking up at the local Chinese buffet, they are just doing their best to live good lives without doing harm to anyone. This goes even beyond that. There are doctors, engineers, code monkeys whom China does not want because China is saturated with skilled workers, and they would only be competing with other Chinese in China who are equally qualified for the same work positions. Even though they are strong in their careers and highly capable, if they are not innovating at the highest level of technology, they are still linear workers; 1 guy does X work, 10 guys do 10X work. China needs innovators who are force multipliers; put one into action and his innovations make all of society's efforts more fruitful. Sadly, sometimes there are highly educated linear workers who are outcompeted in China and end up doing food delivery; in this case, I can even recommend they emigrate to find a proper position to keep their skills sharp, with the caveat that if they blossom into force multipliers, they return to a proper position offered to them in China.

When a Chinese person abroad becomes a shining gem in his field and can drive at the pioneering edge, when they become innovative force multipliers, they need to consider who they are genetically and politically, and if they arrive at the wrong answer, then they are indeed traitors/hanjian.

I never fret about passports and documents. They are just paper, mostly made for convenience. As long as their contributes are to China and their hearts are in the right place, that is all I ask.
This is ultranationalist goobly goop.

This is ultranationalist goobly goop.
All he told wasn't about racial superiority or anything too complex as just a national rejuventation. Nothing like expansionist through force or something close and suppressive. As of hypercompetition, China have to slash working hours to 6. This could absorb many people to work as an extra shift and with given productivity boom there won't be any serious problem. I wish :p

Goobly goop? LOL You sound like a baby trying to handle semi-solid foods. Everybody else got it; wasn't too complicated for them. It's a simple concept; if everyone competed with the people their nations produced, China would be the global juggernaut. Look at how kids perform in your Canadian schools. It's undeniable... except by calling everything you don't understand or want to understand "goobly goop." LOLOL

Get the fuck out of here trying to justify ultranationalist ideology. People like you make me fucking sick! You make blanket statements about other peoples lives painting them in very simplistic black and white terms. Yet you want to call me a, "baby trying to hand semi-solid foods"? Motherfucker, I didn't claim that successful Chinese people living outside of China are traitors to their race. So how about you take a look in the mirror and consider what you say before you run your mouth?

Lets have a history lesson shall we?

Those are your words! Do you remember typing them? You claimed that successful Chinese people, no matter where they are in the world, have to come to a conclusion (that you arbitrarily defined as correct) otherwise they are, "traitors/hanjian". Who are you to make such grand fucking prognostications on other peoples lived experiences? Get out of here with that shit!

EDIT: manqiangrexue is in a Donald Trump 2.0 thread trafficking in a more extreme version of the right-wing white nationalist ideology adopted by many right wing Americans? Bro, do you realize this thread isn't a celebration of the 2nd Trump administration?

Should put Trump on 250 dollars gold bullions instead. Gonna sell like hot cakes in China and address the trade balance in one or two months.

Perhaps if hyperinflation rears its very ugly head and USA will then be like Mozambique where people have million/billion dollar bills in their pockets-no,Dear Orange Leader must be put on a billion dollar banknote ,not a paltry 250$

There is indeed a global trend toward resurgent nationalism, or rather, major powers have always been this way—it was merely masked by decades of economic prosperity and international peace, while propaganda avoided nationalist narratives. Some of the previous user's language was indeed rather extreme. I don't believe contemporary nationalism aims to expel foreigners or portray other ethnic groups as inferior. Rather, it represents a national security measure—for instance, core positions in major corporations should ideally be filled by nationals, and core government officials should ideally be nationals as well. This significantly reduces the risk of corporate or governmental defection while also reassuring citizens fearful of outsiders. A nation where the largest ethnic group constitutes 90% of the population is far more likely to remain stable and avoid fragmentation than one where that group makes up only 50%. We can observe this dynamic in Japan's concerns regarding foreign residents.
